HISTORY
 
BARRIO SANTANDER Educational Institution is located in the district 6, northwest of Medellin.
 
Consists of the Headquarters, located in the race 78C No. 104F-78 at the edge of the Barrio Doce de Octubre, whose immediate neighbor buses Terminal Transport Company Castilla. The history of the institution dates back to 1977, when he managed the creation of a secondary educational establishment for the Barrio Santander, and that was when the Ministry of Education and Culture Department of Antioquia created a sixth group which functioned as annexes Masses at Liceo del Barrio Diego Echevarria Florence.
 
On January 22, 1981 Departmental Decree 0093 gave legal existence to the institution and make the plant personnel, a principal and eight teachers for the operation of six groups with a total of 307 students.
 
In 1984 the Lyceum began the year with 10 groups for a total of 436 students. This establishment was supported by the Community in 1984 before the suit was necessary to expand school places to sixth grade increase in 7 groups distributed as follows: 4 groups in the State of Israel and School 3 groups in classrooms provided by the Community Action Quarter Paris Sauces. On 17 March 2000 is the official presentation of the current physical plant, and opened the first stage of the Lyceum. The institution has 2205 students, 1 Rector, 4 coordinators, 65 teachers.
 
At the main physical plant consists of three blocks, one of which is administrative and the other two are located 15 classrooms, staff room, laboratory, two classrooms, ICT room and library open. We also have large, modern auditorium, coliseum, and restaurant industry in very good condition. It is necessary to build a playground for improving the quality of life of children.
 
In the Status section of Israel has 12 classrooms, space for the school cafeteria, auditorium and playground for children.
